Yeah, so, I rejoin the workforce tomorrow, after almost two months of unemployment.
I can’t wait to get back to the daily grind. Well, I’m looking forward to a steady paycheck, medical benefits, sick days and vacation time. My unemployment checks paid for the bare minimum (rent, PG&E, etc.); however, any time I went to the movies, drinks or dinner, David and my friends ended up paying for me. I can’t wait to get my first paycheck, so I can begin to return the favor. Of course, David paid for me more than anyone. I owe that mighty, mighty good man, big time.
Of course, I’m also excited to get back to work, get back to the daily grind and rejoin society. I’m eager to learn some new skills. I think this job is very positive step in a new career direction for me. I will learn a lot about managing blogs, plus some basic HTML and web design. I can’t wait.
Of course, there are some things about unemployment that I will miss:
- Sleeping in
- Long walks with Homer (when it was sunny outside)
- Cheap afternoon yoga
- Lunch with my sister
- Being able to get through the shows on my DVR is a timely fashion
- Reading every celebrity gossip site
Thanks be to David, my family and friends, who helped me financially or emotionally during my unemployed days.
