I’m not sick, except for that whole cancer thing

Yeah, so, I was talking to good buddy Corso about how she is not feeling well when I said something so ridiculous …

She’s got that nasty cold/flu that everyone has been getting. It’s horrible. Family members, friends and coworkers have been sick for weeks, even months with this thing. But I haven’t really gotten it yet, which resulted in me saying this:

“Yeah, I haven’t really gotten sick lately … except for that whole cancer thing.”

Well said, jackass.

Of course, I don’t have breast cancer anymore. So … yay me!

On another note, my coworkers really love to play their music loud. Right now, they are blasting “Fame.” Now, it’s going to be stuck in my head!

FAME! I’m gonna live forever. I’m learn how to fly HIGH.

I like to imagine they are all dancing back there; a massive musical number is going on. Well, I hope they know that fame costs, and right here is where you start paying in sweat.

I'm a writer/mocker/goober/mother in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, podcast, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.

  1. Fame would be better than the stuck-in-my-head tune my kids planted… “Funkytown”… they started singing it on Friday night and it was still careening in my brainpan Monday afternoon…

  2. Ack! Even that first line will cause me to be lighting up the sky like a flame all night. Oh well, at least I’m gonna live forever, though I’ll have to adjust to people who see me and cry…

  3. Great. Now “Funkytown” is stuck in my head, as is the image of Chris lighting up the sky like a flame.
