Yeah, so, apparently, I’m not acting “bride-y” enough for people in the office.
I don’t know what they are expecting, but some of my coworkers are claiming that I’m not acting happy enough. I’m happy! I’m happy, dammit! I’m walking around happy as can be, but yeah, I’m not walking around with a veil on my head and a Mrs. David Tracy T-shirt on. I guess they want to see a full-on bridezilla or something.
They have also been teasing me because I’m not taking off that much time around the wedding. The wedding is this Saturday. I’m taking Friday and Monday off. The truth is I would love to take more time off, but I’m in vacation debt, but I don’t want to point this out to my coworkers.
Coworker: “I heard Sonia is coming in on Saturday morning to do a few things before the ceremony.”
Me: “HA! That’s funny. You know what else is funny? The fact that I would love to take more time off but I can’t because I used up all my vacation time while recovering from three surgeries due to breast cancer.”
Wah wah waaaah. I’m pretty sure that would make me the Debbie Downer of the office. I would rather they think I’m just not that bride-y.
