Oil spill?! Quick, someone call a director!

Yeah, so, apparently director James Cameron has been called in to discuss solutions to the BP oil spill.

I’m not sure how a bad script and special effects can help, but what do I know about oil spills?

Have they contacted Kevin Costner yet? He was in “Waterworld,” and he’s got those gills. Surely, he can help. Or what about director Michael Bay? He directed “Pearl Harbor” so he knows all about disasters.

I'm a writer/podcaster/mother/goober in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, go on adventures with my mighty, mighty good man David and my awesome autistic son, Calvin, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.

  1. Don’t forget Tom Clancy, who became a renowned terrorism expert in the wake of 9/11.

  2. Ironically, Costner actually already IS down there helping — w/ some saying his centrifuge contraption could be the one good (only good?) thing to come out of Waterworld:
