Yeah, so, we need to step into the way-back machine for this one.
In 2001, my sister and I were shopping in the Sunvalley Mall in Concord, because that’s what we did. We shopped. We went to the movies. Then we shopped some more. That was our life before she started popping out babies. Ah, the ol’ days.
While we strolled the mall, buying stuff we didn’t need, we walked by a Burger King and saw the most amazing thing. It was a glass goblet promotion for “Lord of the Ring: The Fellowship of the Ring.”
Michelle: “I think we need those glasses, don’t you?”
Me: “Yes. Yes, I do.”
Quickly, these glass goblets became our go-to drinking glass. There was something about the size, weight and shape … they were just perfect glasses.
Flash forward nine years later … It is still my go-to drinking glass. The minute it is out of the dishwasher I’m using it again. I love that glass.
So, you can imagine what happened next, right? Sonia the Complete Spaz reached for the glass in the dishwasher and accidentally knocked it into the counter and broke it.
I almost cried. I was so bummed. That was a few weeks ago, and every day I went looking for that glass in the cupboard only to be reminded that I broke it.
David to the rescue!
He started trolling eBay for a replacement, and the other day he sent me an email saying, “I won an auction on eBay. You married a winner.” It didn’t occur to me that he bought “Lord of the Ring” glasses. I figured he bought a board game or something.
Not only did he buy a replacement for my beloved goblet, he bought all four!
Oh, and did I mention that the glasses light up?
Oh, and did I mention that I’m a total nerd?
