The Sonia Show

Writer. Mocker. Beer drinker. Old movie watcher. Mother. Goober.

Further proof that I’m not getting into heaven

Yeah, so, this is an IM exchange between my sister and me:

Me: A friend of mine spent her birthday today volunteering at a shelter and feeding the homeless. I step over the homeless to go to a nice restaurant on my birthday. She’s getting into heaven. Me? Not so much.

Michelle: It’s important to appreciate what you have. I should do something like that.

Me: You know, I gave a lot of money to breast cancer organizations this year and the SPCA.

Michelle: See? You are a good person.

Me: Not really. I just want them to cure breast cancer so if I get it again I’ll be OK. Purely selfish.

Author: The Sonia Show

I'm a writer/mocker/goober/mother in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, podcast, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.

Leave a comment, you guys. It's fun!
