Nailed it

Yeah, so, I am completely amazed.

I got my nails done a week ago, and they have not clipped. At all! They look as good as they when I walked out of the salon.

A week ago, good buddy DH took pity on me and agreed to get a pedicure and manicure. I get mani and pedis every once in a while, but I usually do my own nails. But now, with this pregnant belly in the way, it’s more difficult to do my toes, so I asked DH if she’d like to talk shit at a salon instead of over brunch.

DH: “I’ll go with you, but only if we get the gel polish.”

Me: “I don’t know what that is, but OK.”

Turns out, it’s a special nail polish that is dried with a UV light between coats. The polish dries in a matter of minutes, which means there is no smudging your polish when getting the money out of your wallet to pay for the manicure. I had never heard of it before. I guess I need to start reading more girly magazines.

So anyway, I had my nails done at Salon Belle Linda on California Street. It’s a week later, and my nails still look awesome. See?

I figured it is my duty as a chick to share this revelation with you. Gentlemen, I apologize for the chickness of this post.

I'm a writer/mocker/goober/mother in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, podcast, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.
