Let me sleep on it

Yeah, so, I get asked the same three questions a lot.

  • “Ma’am, have you been drinking?”
  • “Would you like fries with that?”
  • “How is the baby sleeping these days?”

The answers are duh; no, I want onion rings; and pretty good.

I was hesitant to write about it, because I didn’t want to jinx it. However, the Spawn has been sleeping through the night most nights for a while now. There’s the occasional night in which he wakes up at 3 a.m., but it doesn’t happen very often. Most nights the kid goes to sleep between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and he sleeps until about 6:30 a.m.

It’s pretty awesome.

Of course, 6:30 a.m. is still earlier than David and I would prefer to be getting up on the weekends, but it could be worse. We wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings to the sounds of The Boy talking to himself in the mirror that we put in his crib. Yes, we put a mirror in his crib. He’s very vain. He loves to look at himself and talk to himself. It’s kinda like when you put a mirror in a parakeet cage.

So anyway, here’s a photo of the Spawn coveting my beer at Rosamunde on Sunday.

I like beer, mom.

Oh, and one more thing, if you would just glance over to the right side of the blog you’ll see that The Sonia Show has a Facebook page now. You can totally like me or something.

I'm a writer/podcaster/mother/goober in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, go on adventures with my mighty, mighty good man David and my awesome autistic son, Calvin, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.

  1. Good thing I live alone. This morning I was up at 3AM. Usually it’s 4:30 though. I’M THE BIG BABY in this house!

Leave a comment, you guys. It's fun!
