RIP Old Glasses

Yeah, so, I got new glasses.

That photo of me up in the right-hand corner over there: I have had those glasses since 2001. There was only one “CSI” show on the air back then. Crazy, right?

A photo so old I got it off MySpace.

I loved those glasses. Those glasses and I have been through a lot together. Crappy jobs. Even crappier relationships. I beat breast cancer. I got hitched. I went to the World Series and watched the San Francisco Giants win. I went to Paris and Belgium. Oh, and I pushed out the Spawn wearing those glasses.

They are special to me, but it’s time to move on. So, I present to you, dear readers, my new glasses.

After seeing these glasses my sister said, “If you are going for a new look, this isn’t it.”

Yes, I know these glasses may not look that different to you. They are black, hard-rimmed glasses. To me, they look totally different. Well, what do you guys think?

Author: The Sonia Show

I'm a writer/podcaster/mother/goober in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, go on adventures with my mighty, mighty good man David and my awesome autistic son, Calvin, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.
