Yeah, so, I was hoping that today on the blog I could share a really cute photo of the Spawn sitting on Santa’s lap. Ha ha! Silly me. I’m so naive.
Last year we had a great time going to see Santa with our good buddies Jeff and Jess and their son, Henry. I felt confident that, even if Calvin wasn’t into seeing Santa, we would at least have a funny, awkward photo or something. Sadly, we didn’t even get that!
We put The Boy in the stroller and walked from Jess and Jeff’s place to the health food store in Albany that hosts Santa. When we arrived, Calvin wouldn’t even get out of the stroller. I unbuckled him, and he freaked out and started crying. He tried to buckle himself back in the chair, so I said, “Well, let’s roll him in, and maybe he will want to get out of the stroller once he sees Santa, or maybe we can get a photo of Calvin in the stroller in the general vicinity of Santa.”
We strolled in, and Calvin immediately started screaming. We didn’t even stop the stroller. We just kept on going. “Hi Santa. Bye Santa. Merry Christmas.” It was a drive-by “Merry Christmas.”
After the Santa fiasco, we went to Little Star in Albany, where unlike last time, the service was, well, less than stellar. I think it was an hour before the pizzas arrived, so by that time we asked for a box, chugged our beers and left. We ate our pizza at Jeff and Jess’ place, which was better anyway, because then the boys can go wild and not bother anyone.
So anyway, happy holidays, you guys!
