The Pop Show Podcast #15 and introducing Trailer Park

Yeah, so, we’re all obsessed with the new “Captain America: Civil War: trailer in this week’s Pop Show podcast.

Smith, Peter, Ryan and I talk about why we love the Marvel movies, and specifically why we love the character Captain America the best. It’s really interesting stuff. I swear. You should listen, and tell your movies to listen.

Other random things discussed in this week’s podcast:

  • Smith and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about “American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.” Short version: If you’re not watching it because you think you know the whole story, you’re probably wrong. You should watch it because it puts a human face behind an event that really turned into a bunch of caricatures.
  • Netflix is developing a TV series based on the video game “Legend of Zelda,” which they are describing as a “Game Of Thrones” for kids. LOL. I, for one, can’t wait for a TV series based on “Yar’s Revenge.”
  • Peter claims that “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” is a terrible movie, which upsets me and Smith to the point that Smith tries to summon the Twitterverse to go after Peter. “Scott Pilgrim” was my favorite movie in 2010, and mighty, mighty good man David and I dressed up as Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers for Halloween that year.

My new column for Assignment X debuted this week. It’s called Trailer Park, and I review movie trailers in it. I know. Trailer Park. Get it? In this week’s column, I review “Civil War,” “Finding Dory,” “Popstar,” “My Big, Fat Greek Wedding 2” and the international trailer for “Ghostbusters.”

I'm a writer/mocker/goober/mother in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, podcast, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.
