Dorking Out Episode 35: Oscar Predictions

Yeah, so, this week’s Dorking Out might be the dorkiest one yet. Smith and I share our Oscar predictions, and the Academy Awards is something we really, REALLY dork out about.

We share our picks for every category. It turns out it’s all going to come down to Live Action Documentary Short to see who wins in our long-running Oscar Pool battle.

We’re usually pretty accurate, so if you have an Oscar pool you’re trying to win, you might want to listen and steal our picks. #humblebrag

Smith is actually coming to my Oscar party on Sunday, so we will be recording the podcast in the same room together for the first-time ever. PLUS, we’re going to try out Facebook Live on Sunday during the show so you can see how our predictions are panning out. I get kinda drinky on Oscar night, so you should like our Facebook page and check it out.

Dorking Out Studios returns in our second segment. Friends of the show Scott and Coryon join Smith in pitching me, the head of Dorking Out Studios, their best movie ideas, and I pick the best one. They had some time to prepare their ideas, but I threw a wrench into their plans with actor/actress and director blacklist, and a list of actors and actresses I wanted them to work with. I really got into the part and, well, I was probably really bitchy. You’ll have to listen and judge for yourself.

You can listen to Dorking Out here, or you can find us on iTunesStitcher and YouTube. If you listen to the show, I’d love to hear what you think. .

I'm a writer/podcaster/mother/goober in San Francisco who likes to drink beer, shop, laugh and make other people laugh, watch old movies, feed my unhealthy obsession with pop culture, kick breast cancer's ass, go on adventures with my mighty, mighty good man David and my awesome autistic son, Calvin, wear orange and root for the San Francisco Giants, participate in general jackass-ery, talk about TV, eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, make nerdy “Star Wars” and “Simpsons” references, and post personal things about myself on the web for all to read, which makes me some sort of literary exhibitionist.
